Wilton Sweetheart Charm Cake Knife and Server Set

The set looks like real crystal. There was no problem cutting and serving the wedding cake for 200 people. It was easy to clean, beautifully. It is lightweight, though. But what do you expect for $10 plastic? I plan to get this set engraved with their Sweetheart_Kitchen names and wedding dates. These will be saved as a momento. You can even tie ribbon on them; however we chose not to because my Daughter doesn’t like foo foo frilly things.

Loved this set, the only way to tell these are not real crystal is to pick them up! And you and your future spouse are most likely the only ones who will be lifting them! Your guests will never know! They do the job well (how hard is it to cut through cake, really? ) and are just as good as the pricier ones. (And man, are there some pricey ones, I did my homework on that!)

Go with the more affordable, and great looking set. No one will ever know, and all your savings can go straight to your honeymoon fund! This Sweetheart_Kitchen set is lovely to look at, but not to hold. Granted its use is not one that should be over a long period of time, but either the cake was super tough or the cutter was not terrific. For something to use to ceremonially cut the cake, it’s fine. Price is certainly right and, as stated, it’s nice looking. For something you would use over and over, maybe not. As mother of the groom who ended up cutting and serving cake to 100, my hand was very sore by the end of the task.

I should have listed to what my parents told me, you always get what you pay for. I received this server set today and was very very unhappy with it. It is very flimsy and I am afraid to use it on my wedding day and it break. The blade is dull and I do not see how it would cut through the cake without ruining it. Also, the handle is thin and unlike any other serving sets I have seen. Luckily, I did not spend much on it or I would be even more disappointed. No point in returning it so I will just donate it to someone. My advice, if you can splurge a bit then get a more expensive and high quality serving set. I received my knife and server set and didn’t really have a great feeling about it at all. Knowing the price, I was not expecting anything elaborate. The set itself is ok if you are on a budget like I am, however, after looking at the sets in Walmart, or even stores like Michael’s, I should have purchased from one of those retailers as opposed to ordering this one. The packaging left me feeling like it had been opened before and the server had smudges. Not like fingerprint smudging, but rather smudging from the manufacturer, where the silver plating was not exactly dry. Personally, I feel as though it was one of those “irregular” products that should not have passed quality control.
