Reviews HDTV for Samsung UN55D8000 55-Inch 1080p
I wanted to provide this TV Samsung UN55D8000 a glowing review; on balance, it’s some of the newest LED technology, and therefore the style is trend setting. when a week with this TV, i am less than glad with the ‘Samsung Experience’. Let me get this off my chest 1st. Did you ever visit an occasion, sort of a county fair, early, when not all the rides and attractions were open? you’re excited because it’s am passionate about it will be plenty of fun, but it’s simply slightly too early for the complete expertise. Well, that is the way I feel concerning this TV. 1st of all, the 3d glasses that are speculated to ship with this TV were not within the box. Instead, there is a voucher you’ll mail in, or go browsing to order (which I did). once every week and no response, I referred to as to search out out why the delay. i was told to browse the voucher’s fine print, which said there was a 10-12 week wait for the glasses. Not good. Secondly, I found a difficulty with the remote management unit, that is not a fun issue to have in your hand. it’s form of short and stubby, with 2 sides. One side includes a QWERTY keyboard for text entry, and a touch-sensitive pointer. I realize that the up, down, right, left controls do not work properly with my unit, and referred to as support to report this. They seemed very inquisitive about the matter and told me they might decision back in 45 minutes (after they created a testing unit) for more information. There was no call back. Another reviewer mentioned the problem in pairing the remote with the TV, via Bluetooth. I conjointly found this to be a drag and not consistently straightforward to try and do.
Samsung 55-Inch 1080p has incorporated a feature known as good Hub into their ‘Smart TV’. this can be a portal that has Netflix, Vimeo, YouTube, Facebook, Pandora, an online browser, and a number of other games and applications that are either free or obtained. The feature is good and that i expect to seeing it develop. you wish to register your TV and create an account, almost like an Apple ID, before you can purchase any of the apps. you’d think you may do that from the TV, however you can’t; you would like to travel on-line to try to to this. Not a giant deal, but it had been confusing. The Samsung web site isn’t ready for prime time either. The discussion board is not yet running. One nice thing is that the Live help, which works fine. However, i was ineffective to urge the extent of help I needed.
Okay, enough with the gripes. this is one fine TV. it’s very light-weight, features a narrow profile and includes a nice, chrome-plated stand that permits you to to rotate the TV about 30 degrees in either direction. a giant factor for me was the skinny bezel, which allowed me to fit a 46″ set into my 43″ wide cupboard. The TV has many inputs, as well as some strange connectors that allow you to attach part and composite video. I do have a non-HDMI DVD that uses the part connectors, and it worked well. The setup of the TV isn’t tough if you’ve got some experience with hookups, and that i was ready to get all the elements and my receiver operating in brief order. As i mentioned on top of, i am not a giant fan of the form of the remote, and that i am trying to duplicate most of the functionality in my Harmony universal remote.
One factor I did was hook up my TV to my iMac to indicate photos to my photo club. i used to be not expecting the quality to be higher than my 27″ iMac, but it had been much better. the colour was most natural in Movie mode, heat 1 setting. The sharpness was uncanny. I saw no obtrusive artifacts on the screen and was pleased as punch at the jaw-dropping quality of my photo pictures (and thus were the club members). The TV is connected to our UVERSE system, and therefore the HD quality is incredibly good. I even have no measurement or calibration tools, but I have a fine eye for photography. the color balance, contrast, and sharpness are excellent. the sole thing i need to induce a handle on is that the ‘Film mode’, which might flip watching modern Family into a strange experience; it virtually makes some programs appear as if they were videotaped sort of a soap opera. I leave this feature ‘off’ for the time being. Tonite we watched the 10 Commandments (1956), and also the quality was incredible! I even have yet to ascertain any Blue Ray DVDs, as i have not purchased a player nevertheless. And, of course, i don’t have the glasses for 3D. I do decide to update my review as this stuff modification.
This TV merits a minimum of a 4-star rating. i could add another betting on how things develop.
