A large angle broom should always be part of every home’s set of cleaning tools for everyday kitchen use. Every part of the house must be kept clean but the kitchen requires utmost sanitation. Preparing food produces much waste of decomposable matters such as meat, vegetable, fruits and even some liquid. Part of these ingredients that fall on the floor may land on hard to reach corners and may easily be overlooked. Such food particles will eventually be the home for harmful bacteria deposits and can only be cleaned when using an angle broom.

Every once or twice a week the whole kitchen area should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Be careful on the amount of detergent and disinfectant you will be using as too much of it may be toxic as well.

Make it a habit to be quick in spot cleaning spills on the floor and kitchen counters. Spot cleaning spills on the floor will save you from daily floor mopping. It is also unsafe to let liquid spills unattended for this may lead to unwanted accidents as you move around the area while preparing meals. Do not be contended in just wiping away the liquid, especially if these are condiments, milk or oil. Use a sponge or cloth soaked with soap or detergent to ensure cleanliness of the spot.

Do not leave unclean or unwashed dishes lying on the sink as this will attract unwanted insects like cockroaches. Doing this often attracts bacteria which will later result to unpleasant odor. What can be done is to mix on the sink some dishwashing detergent with water while cooking or baking. As soon as a dish is cooked and served on the platter, put the used pot or pan on the sink and let it soak. When all the cooking and baking are done, proceed to the cleaning of soaked pots and pans. At this point, it will be easier to remove stuck food and grease.

Watch out for smelly sponges and cloth. This is already a sign of massive bacteria build-up and a sign that the sponge or cloth should already be replaced. Dish clothes are actually better to be used than sponges. Sponges retain liquid and they are left wet most of the time making it a good place for bacteria to proliferate. When using wash clothes, clean and hang them dry after using.

Floor mopping maybe done once or twice a week but sweeping should be a regular chore. For households with pets and children, daily mopping is necessary. Invest on a good large angle broom that you can use for a long period of time. This is one tool that is definitely useful in kitchen areas.
